TLDR Genotype CG17 of garden cress seeds has the most β-carotenoids, tocopherols, and vitamins.
The study investigated the physiochemical properties, lipid breakdown, β-carotenoids, tocopherols, vitamins, and amino and fatty acid profiles of Soxhlet-extracted oil from five different garden cress seed genotypes in Ethiopia. The results indicated significant variation in extraction yield, viscosity, specific gravity, refractive index, lipid breakdown, and boiling point among the genotypes, with promising amino and fatty acid profiles. Notably, the genotype CG17 had higher quantities of β-carotenoids, tocopherols, and vitamins compared to the other genotypes.
