TLDR Jojoba roots have unique properties that were previously unexplored.
The study focused on the pharmacognostical evaluation of the roots of Simmondsia chinensis Schneider, commonly known as jojoba. While jojoba seeds were known for their high oil content and use in traditional remedies for various ailments, the roots had not been previously studied. This investigation included microscopic analysis, physico-chemical constants such as ash and extractive values, fluorescence analysis, and preliminary phytochemical evaluation to better understand the properties of the roots.
