TLDR The compounded topical solution is safe, stable, and effective for personalized alopecia treatment.
The study introduces a compounded topical solution (CTS) for personalized alopecia treatment, addressing the limitations of standard treatments. Involving 52 healthy volunteers, the study found no adverse reactions after 6 weeks, indicating good clinical tolerability. The solution's stability was confirmed using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, showing compatibility with minoxidil and dutasteride or finasteride over extended periods. Additionally, CTS was shown to enhance fibroblast proliferation and increase FGF-7 and FGF-10 mRNA levels, suggesting a mechanism for promoting hair growth. These findings suggest CTS as a promising alternative or complementary treatment for alopecia.

The conversation is about someone who has been taking finasteride for hair loss without success, considering switching to dutasteride or giving up treatment. Suggestions include trying dutasteride, microneedling, infrared therapy, multivitamins, and high-concentration topical solutions combining finasteride and dutasteride.
