TLDR The compounded topical solution is safe, stable, and effective for personalized alopecia treatment.
The study developed a compounded topical solution (CTS) for personalized alopecia treatment, evaluating its tolerability, stability, and mechanisms of action. Involving 52 healthy volunteers for irritation and sensitization tests, and 32 for photoallergic and phototoxic effects, no adverse reactions were reported after 6 weeks. High-Performance Liquid Chromatography confirmed the stability of CTS with minoxidil and dutasteride or finasteride for up to 120 and 90 days, respectively. CTS was shown to induce fibroblast proliferation and increase FGF-7 and FGF-10 mRNA levels, suggesting enhanced hair growth regulation. The findings support CTS as a clinically tolerable and effective alternative for personalized alopecia management.
