TLDR Peps help Arabidopsis plants grow more root hairs by affecting specific genes and calcium signaling.
Plant Elicitor Peptides (Peps) were found to enhance root hair growth in Arabidopsis independently of their known receptors, PEPR1 and PEPR2. The study revealed that several PROPEP gene promoters are active in root hairs, with PROPEP2 being crucial for root hair development. Disruption of the PROPEP2 gene significantly reduced root hair density and length. PROPEP2 influences root hair formation by modulating CPC and GL2 expression, affecting cell-fate determination, and involves calcium signaling in the process. These findings highlight a new role for Peps in promoting root hair development.

in Treatment  274 upvotes 3 weeks ago
A new plant-based serum is claimed to regrow hair in weeks, but users are skeptical about its effectiveness and the reliability of the study. Ingredients like Centella Asiatica and IGF-1 are mentioned, but many doubt the serum's superiority over existing treatments like Minoxidil and finasteride.

A serum containing Centella asiatica extracellular vesicles, IGF-1, FGF-7, and caffeine significantly improved hair thickness, density, length, and reduced hair loss after 56 days. The conversation also discusses how treatments like finasteride, minoxidil, and ketoconazole address different aspects of hair loss by reducing DHT, improving blood flow, and lowering inflammation.

      in Treatment 1 month ago
Redensyl is a plant-based treatment that may support hair regrowth by reactivating dormant follicles and improving hair density, especially in early-stage thinning. It is not a miracle cure and results vary; it is less proven than Minoxidil or Finasteride and may cause scalp irritation.

Rotenone, a natural plant extract, may promote hair growth by increasing LDH activity and blocking MPC in the scalp, but it carries risks due to its toxicity. The suggested formulation includes Barbasco extract, DMSO, propylene glycol or PEG-400, ethanol, and a carrier oil.
