TLDR Different types of diffuse alopecia affect mental health differently, requiring personalized treatment.
The study examined 153 women with diffuse alopecia to understand the affective sphere and develop personalized treatment strategies. It found that 47.7% of patients exhibited signs of mental maladjustment, while 29.4% were mentally healthy, and 22.9% had adjustment disorders. The mental state varied with the genesis of alopecia: 66.7% of those with metabolic alopecia were mentally healthy, whereas 59.3% with mixed alopecia showed mental maladjustment.
