TLDR Patients were very satisfied with the multidisciplinary group visit for alopecia areata.
A study conducted at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center evaluated patient satisfaction with a multidisciplinary group medical visit (GMV) for alopecia areata (AA). The GMV included presentations from a dermatologist, nutritionist, mental health counselor, esthetician, and salon owner, followed by individual consultations. Out of 10 attendees, 7 completed a satisfaction survey, all of whom were female with an average age of 49. The GMV received an average satisfaction rating of 9.14 out of 10. All participants found the information useful, with improved understanding of nutrition's impact on AA, mental health care access, and hair loss camouflage. Most participants expressed willingness to attend future GMVs and recommend them to others. The study concludes that multidisciplinary GMVs enhance patient satisfaction, access to care, and knowledge about AA.
