A study conducted at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center evaluated patient satisfaction with a multidisciplinary group medical visit (GMV) for alopecia areata, involving 10 female patients with an average age of 49. The GMV included presentations by a dermatologist, nutritionist, mental health counselor, esthetician, and salon owner, followed by individual consultations. Out of 7 patients who completed a satisfaction survey, the GMV received an average rating of 9.14 out of 10. All participants found the information useful, with improved understanding of nutrition, mental health care, and hair loss camouflage. Most patients expressed willingness to attend future GMVs and recommend them to others, indicating that such multidisciplinary approaches enhance patient satisfaction and access to care.
