TLDR Hyaluronic acid filler can safely and effectively improve facial contour in Parry-Romberg Syndrome.
This case report described the use of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler as a treatment for Parry-Romberg Syndrome (PRS) in a 42-year-old female patient. PRS is a rare neurocutaneous disorder characterized by unilateral facial atrophy. Traditional treatments like surgical flaps and autologous fat transplantation are complex and costly. The patient received a total of 11.5 ml of HA filler over multiple sessions, resulting in significant improvement in facial contour without adverse effects. The study suggested that HA filler could be a safe, simple, and cost-effective alternative to surgical treatments for PRS.
