TLDR Anovulatory PCOS patients are younger with longer cycles and higher blood pressure and hormone levels.
This study compared ovulatory and anovulatory PCOS phenotypes in 132 Turkish women aged 20-40. Anovulatory patients were younger, had longer menstrual cycles, and exhibited higher systolic blood pressure, LH, total testosterone, fT3, fT4, and total cholesterol levels. No significant differences were found in BMI, waist/hip ratios, diastolic blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, insulin levels, or HOMA-IR scores. The study emphasizes the need for tailored therapeutic and preventive strategies based on local phenotypic characteristics and suggests that larger sample sizes are necessary for future research to validate these findings.

A 30-year-old female with PCOS and male pattern baldness is frustrated with her endocrinologist's recommendation of only Spironolactone and minoxidil, feeling that dutasteride, finasteride, and progesterone would be more effective. Other users suggest various online sources for treatments, warn against self-medicating due to potential risks, and recommend seeking a specialized endocrinologist or considering additional treatments like Inositol, Berberine, and dermaneedling.
