TLDR Mesotherapy might be a useful addition to dental surgery to reduce drug use and side effects, but more research is needed.
The document discussed the potential of oral mesotherapy as an adjunctive technique in various surgical procedures, particularly in dentistry. Mesotherapy involved the local injection of therapeutic agents directly into the target area, minimizing systemic side effects and reducing the required dosage to 1% of what would be needed systemically. It had applications in local anesthesia, corticosteroid delivery, and vitamin injections, among others. Despite benefits like improved blood flow, connective tissue quality, and cost-effectiveness, further research was needed to fully understand its efficacy and safety in different oral problems. The FDA had not approved mesotherapy as a technique but had approved several drugs used in the process.
