TLDR Combination 3 of ethnomedicinal plants from Nusa Tenggara Timur significantly increases hair-follicle thickness.
The study focused on optimizing a combination of ethnomedicinal plants from Nusa Tenggara Timur (RENTT) to address chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) by enhancing hair-follicle thickness. Using Taguchi’s Orthogonal Stimulus Response method, 27 combinations were tested, and combination 3, with the lowest IC₅₀ value of 27.47 µg/mL, was selected for in vivo testing. Conducted on 35 male mice, the study found that the RENTT group achieved the greatest follicle thickness (47.04 µm). The results showed significant differences among groups, confirming that combination 3 of RENTT has strong antioxidant activity and significantly increases hair-follicle thickness.
