TLDR Finasteride nano-emulsion optimized using chemometric approach.
This study aimed to optimize the preparation of finasteride nano-emulsion using a chemometric approach. The experiments were performed using a Box-behenken experimental design to find out the effect of each factor and their interactions on the particle size of nanoemulsion. The study found that droplet size changes as a function of Span-80 and Tween-80 concentrations and sonication time. The results also showed that surfactants, especially Span-80, play a key role in nanoemulsion physical stability. The study concludes that a chemometric approach allowed the determination of the optimum conditions for the preparation of finasteride nanoemulsions with a limited number of experiments.
