TLDR Combining a plant-based diet with emotional intelligence can lower BMI and bad cholesterol.
The study assessed a 12-week program that combined plant-based nutrition and emotional intelligence (EI) education to improve cardiometabolic health in 37 overweight adults. Participants experienced significant reductions in BMI and LDL levels at the end of the program and at a 6-month follow-up. Additionally, there were notable improvements in energy, self-regard, decision-making, impulse control, and stress management. The findings indicate that integrating EI with dietary changes can effectively enhance weight management and cardiometabolic health, suggesting the potential for broader application and the need for further research in larger populations.
