TLDR The alexandrite laser is a safe and effective treatment for Acne Keloidalis Nuchae.
The study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of the 755-nm alexandrite laser in treating Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN) in 17 male patients. Over 6 sessions, significant reductions in papule and pustule counts, keloidal plaque size, and pliability were observed. The only complication was temporary hair density reduction, which patients found acceptable. Early lesions showed more improvement than late lesions. Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scores significantly improved, and no recurrence was noted during the 3-month follow-up. The study concluded that the alexandrite laser is a safe and effective treatment for AKN, enhancing patients' quality of life.
