TLDR The nanocrystalline suspension effectively delivers dutasteride over time with minimal inflammation.
The study developed a nanocrystalline suspension (NS) of dutasteride (DTS) for prolonged intramuscular delivery, using a dual-centrifugation bead-milling technique with Tween 80 as a stabilizer. The DTS-NS achieved a particle size of 324 nm and demonstrated a sustained drug release profile in rats, maintaining therapeutic levels for over 56 days with a bioavailability of approximately 67%. Histopathological analysis showed a granulomatous inflammatory response at the injection site, which significantly decreased by day 14 and was minimal by day 28. These findings suggest that the DTS-NS system is promising for sustained drug delivery with manageable local inflammation, offering potential improvements in the delivery and efficacy of DTS in clinical settings.

community Dutasteride 4.5 months really struggling what should I do

      in Finasteride/Dutasteride  18 upvotes 1 week ago
The user has been on dutasteride for 4.5 months after switching from finasteride due to hair thinning, and is experiencing significant hair loss despite also using minoxidil and microneedling. Many responses suggest that dutasteride takes time to show results, often requiring patience for up to a year or more, and recommend not stopping finasteride abruptly to avoid shedding.

Dutasteride and finasteride can significantly slow or halt hair loss, with some users experiencing regrowth, but results vary. Lifestyle factors and individual genetic predispositions also play a role in hair loss outcomes.

Hair loss treatments like Dutasteride, RU58841, and Minoxidil may not work for everyone, as some individuals experience no improvement despite extensive use and research. Genetic factors can play a significant role, and standard treatments may not be effective for all.
