TLDR Multiomics is revolutionizing biology by enabling breakthroughs in research and disease diagnosis.
Multiomics is transforming scientific research and development by providing a comprehensive view of biology, leading to breakthroughs in basic and clinical research. At the Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine at WUM, studies are being conducted on the long-term effects of SARS-CoV-19 infection, focusing on adult tissue stem cells, purinergic signaling, and the complement system in stem cell mobilization and engraftment. The research also explores the role of inflammasomes and complosomes in hematopoietic system pathogenesis. The team performs qualitative and quantitative analyses from genome sequencing to single-cell RNA-Seq and chemical structure determination using mass spectrometry. In a multi-center collaboration, untargeted metabolomics analyses are conducted, and diagnostic methods combining electron microscopy, genomics, and proteomics are used to develop algorithms for rare disease typing, including amyloidosis.
