This study examined 181 geriatric patients at a dermatology outpatient department in India, revealing that 65.7% were male and 34.3% were female. The most common complaint was pruritus, affecting 68.5% of patients, while fungal infections and eczematous disorders were also prevalent. Diabetes mellitus was diagnosed in 58% of the participants. Age-related changes such as wrinkling and graying of hair were universal, and alopecia affected 76.2% of the patients. The study highlights the importance of comprehensive examinations for elderly patients to identify skin or systemic diseases, emphasizing that prompt management of these conditions can significantly improve their quality of life.
