TLDR Moringa oleifera Lamk. shows promise as an effective anti-acne treatment.
The review article investigates the potential of Moringa oleifera Lamk. as an anti-acne agent, focusing on its antibacterial properties against acne-causing bacteria. Using a Systematic Literature Review method, the study found that Moringa leaf extracts exhibit significant antibacterial activity. Specifically, a 96% ethanol extract using the well method effectively inhibits Propionibacterium acnes, while the same concentration using the disc diffusion method is more effective against Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, a 70% ethanol extract using the well method shows better results against Staphylococcus epidermidis. These findings suggest that Moringa oleifera Lamk. could be a promising candidate for anti-acne treatments.
