TLDR Minoxidil effectively lowers blood pressure without major side effects.
This 50-year-old study investigated the use of minoxidil in patients with severe hypertension and renal failure. The study found that minoxidil was effective in reducing blood pressure without causing orthostatic hypotension, and did not produce serious side effects. The study suggests that further trials of minoxidil are indicated due to its highly desirable properties.
