TLDR Minoxidil with propranolol and diuretics lowers blood pressure but causes fluid retention and hair growth.
The study found that minoxidil in combination with propranolol and diuretics can effectively reduce blood pressure in patients with severe hypertension resistant to standard therapy. However, fluid retention was a problem in the minoxidil group. Patients reported feeling better on minoxidil and experienced hypertrichosis (hair growth) as a side effect. The study concludes that minoxidil has a place in the management of severe hypertension refractory to other treatment regimens.
