Use of Minoxidil in the Treatment of Female Pattern Alopecia: Systematic Review

TLDR Minoxidil can treat female hair loss but may cause side effects.
The systematic review focused on the use of Minoxidil for treating female pattern alopecia. Out of 309 studies found, only 2 met the research criteria. Minoxidil was used at a concentration of 0.5% for injectable scalp treatments and 5% for topical applications. Adverse effects included headaches for the injectable method and hypertrichosis and allergies for the topical method.
