TLDR Microneedling can improve hair growth in people not responding to standard treatments.
The study reported on five cases of androgenetic alopecia (AA) treated with microneedling in combination with oral finasteride and minoxidil, showing moderate to great hair growth improvement in most patients. The treatment was well-tolerated without complications, and patient satisfaction was high, with scores over 75%. One patient maintained results for 18 months with continued treatment. The findings suggested microneedling as an effective and affordable alternative for AA, especially for those not responding to conventional treatments. However, larger and longer-term studies were recommended to confirm these results.
