TLDR The compounding pharmacy in Venâncio Aires generally follows good practices, with only the Paracetamol sample showing significant microbial growth.
Three years ago, a study was conducted to evaluate the quality of raw materials and formulations in a compounding pharmacy in Venâncio Aires. The study collected and tested 10 samples of raw materials and 10 samples of their respective formulations for the presence of various microorganisms. Significant microbial growth was only observed in the Paracetamol sample, with a growth of 2.0 x104 CFU/g in the raw material sample and 2.5 x104 CFU/g in the manipulated sample. The other raw materials, Metildopa, Finasteride, Ciprofibrate, Itraconazole, Tadalafil, Lactase, Ketoconazole, Aciclovir, and Collagen, showed no or insignificant growth. The study concluded that the compounding pharmacy that provided the samples was adhering to good compounding practices.
