TLDR Many women with female pattern hair loss also have metabolic syndrome.
This study investigated the frequency of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in women with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, involving 96 women aged 19-45 years. The results showed that 59.4% of these women were diagnosed with MetS. The study found no significant difference in the frequency of MetS across various subgroups based on age, duration of disease, and pattern of hair loss. The findings highlight a substantial proportion of FPHL patients also suffer from MetS, suggesting a potential link between the two conditions.
