The Potential of Menthol in Enhancing Hair Growth-Promoting Effects of Phyllanthus Niruri Ethanol Extract Gel

The study investigated the potential of menthol in enhancing the hair growth-promoting effects of Phyllanthus niruri L. ethanol extract gel. Four groups of rats were tested: a normal group, a negative control, an E1 group (5% P. niruri gel without menthol), and an E2 group (5% P. niruri gel with menthol). Hair growth was measured over 21 days. The E2 group showed significantly greater hair length (12.45±3.457 mm) and weight (28.53±7.681 mg) compared to the E1 group (10.67±2.455 mm and 19.87±9.552 mg). The results concluded that menthol enhances the hair growth and thickness effects of P. niruri ethanol extract gel.
