TLDR Certain plant extracts can effectively and safely reduce seborrhea when used in properly formulated scalp care products.
Seborrhea, a dermatological issue involving disturbances in the skin's sebaceous glands, is influenced by factors such as genetics, hormonal diseases, diet, vitamin deficiencies, and improper care treatments. The study aimed to analyze plant materials with high anti-seborrheic potential and review current studies on selected plant extracts with anti-seborrheic activity and their possible therapeutic effects. Personalized therapy, cosmetic treatments, and topical application of appropriate medicinal plant-based products are crucial for normalizing the work of the sebaceous glands. A well-chosen composition of highly effective plant extracts can create a natural cosmetic that safely reduces seborrhea without additional side effects.
