TLDR The new technique increases hair graft yield and minimizes scarring in hair restoration.
The study introduces a sequential strip harvest technique in follicular unit transplantation (FUT) to maximize graft yield, conducted on 258 patients with Grade IV-VII androgenetic alopecia at Kaayakalp Clinic, Kolkata. This method allows for the extraction of up to 7,366 grafts in a single session, surpassing the yield of both standard FUT and combined FUT and FUE methods. The technique also preserves the donor area's appearance with minimal scarring due to trichophytic closure, and adverse effects were minimal. This innovation offers a significant improvement in hair restoration outcomes.
