TLDR A man with four autoimmune diseases suggests a new category for multiple autoimmune syndrome.
A 40-year-old man was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune syndrome (MAS) after presenting with four autoimmune diseases: autoimmune hypothyroidism, alopecia universalis, celiac disease, and immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). This case did not fit into any existing MAS classification categories, suggesting the need for a new fourth category that includes these specific conditions. The report highlighted the importance of ongoing monitoring for new autoimmune diseases in patients with MAS.
