TLDR No link found between aromatase gene and female hair loss.
The study investigated whether variants of the aromatase gene (CYP19A1) are associated with female pattern hair loss (FPHL). The results showed no significant association between any of the four variants and FPHL in the UK and German samples. The study suggests that CYP19A1 is not implicated in the pathophysiology of FPHL. The study concludes that the present results do not support the hypothesis that CYP19A1 directly influences susceptibility to FPHL.
