Intradermal Injection of Platelet-Rich Plasma for Periorbital Wrinkles: A Review

This narrative review evaluated the effect of intradermal injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on periorbital wrinkles, including 8 studies with 83 female patients aged 26-65. The findings indicate that PRP treatment leads to objective improvement in wrinkle appearance, increased subjective satisfaction, and positive blinded evaluations of skin renewal. The review concludes that PRP is a promising treatment for preventing periorbital wrinkles, though future studies should address current limitations by incorporating long-term follow-up and randomized controlled trials with minimal bias and no industry sponsorship.
