TLDR Long-term low-dose Vitamin A intake may cause increased brain pressure.
A 60-year-old woman experienced worsening headaches over two years, initially diagnosed as migraines. Despite normal brain imaging, cerebrospinal fluid analysis revealed elevated pressures indicative of intracranial hypertension. The patient had been taking two capsules of propolis daily for 14 years, each containing 300 mcg of Vitamin A. Discontinuation of the propolis was advised, suggesting a link between chronic low-dose Vitamin A intake and intracranial hypertension.
