TLDR The biofilm-dispersing wound gel helps wounds heal faster and prevents infection.
The study investigated the effects of a biofilm-dispersing wound gel (BDWG) on wound healing in adult female Swiss Webster mice with full-thickness skin wounds. The results showed that BDWG did not interfere with wound healing stages and effectively prevented infection. BDWG-treated wounds exhibited more advanced healing stages, including increased reepithelialisation, hair follicle regeneration, and neovascularisation, compared to untreated and PEG-treated groups. The study concluded that BDWG facilitated wound healing without hindering the process, suggesting its potential as an effective wound management product.
