TLDR Diet B improved dogs' skin and hair condition.
The study investigated the impact of diets rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and related nutrients on the skin and hair coat conditions of 24 dogs over a 12-week period. The dogs were divided into three groups, each receiving a different diet. Diet B, which had higher levels of linoleic acid and zinc, resulted in statistically significant improvements in skin and hair coat conditions, as evidenced by increased lipid content and prolonged anagen phase of hair follicles. This suggested that dietary modifications could positively influence canine sebum lipids and hair health.
