TLDR Consider Castleman's disease in similar cases; histology and steroids help diagnose and manage it.
This case report described a 60-year-old female with idiopathic multicentric Castleman's disease (CD) associated with POEMS syndrome, presenting with symptoms such as generalized weakness, weight loss, hair loss, and lymphadenopathy. The report emphasized the importance of considering CD as a differential diagnosis in similar clinical presentations and highlighted the role of histology in differentiating CD from other lymphoproliferative disorders. It also noted that lymph node excision could be both diagnostic and therapeutic, and that steroid therapy was beneficial in controlling disease progression.
