TLDR Hsc70 protein may influence hair growth by responding to androgens.
The study investigated androgen-regulated genes in SV40-transformed human hair dermal papilla (DP) cells, which are crucial for hair growth regulation. Using cDNA representational difference analysis, the researchers identified that the heat shock cognate protein, Hsc70, was differentially expressed in response to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) treatment. This suggested that Hsc70 might play a role in androgen action on DP cells.
