I National Academic Congress of Dermatology
January 2021
TLDR The I National Academic Congress of Dermatology in 2021 expanded to include participants from across Brazil and discussed dermatology topics, including COVID-19.
The I National Academic Congress of Dermatology (I CONAD) was established in 2021 in partnership with the Brazilian Society of Dermatology - Minas Gerais Regional (SBD-MG). The event aimed to unite health course students from all over Brazil interested in the specialty of Dermatology. The congress began in 2019 as the Integrated Congress of Dermatology, uniting academic leagues of dermatology from Belo Horizonte - MG. In 2020, with the support of SBD-MG, it expanded under the name of the Minas Gerais Interleague Dermatology Congress, inviting all leagues from the state of Minas Gerais to become partners. In 2021, the congress, debuting as CONAD, had national reach, with partner leagues from various states. At the time, there were over 30 partner leagues of the event. The event took place on November 13, 2021, from 8 am to 5 pm, through online video conferencing platforms. The congress included 13 simple abstracts that covered bibliographic reviews of dermatological relevance, some of which made an interface between the medical specialty and the global context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
