TLDR Hyperbaric oxygen therapy speeds up recovery and improves outcomes in hair transplants.
This case report evaluates hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as an adjunctive treatment to enhance postoperative recovery in hair transplantation. Five male patients undergoing follicular unit excision received HBOT sessions, resulting in complete scab elimination within 3-5 days, excellent graft integration rates (97-99%), and high patient satisfaction. Recovery time averaged 2.8 days, with pain significantly reduced by day three. No complications were observed, suggesting HBOT is a promising treatment to improve outcomes and patient experience in hair transplantation, though further studies are needed to optimize protocols.
