Studysummary This study found that human hair shafts emit electromagnetic signals that can create images through thin glass barriers, potentially influenced by static electricity. Our plain-language summary of this paper — not a Tressless recommendation.
The study demonstrated that human hair shafts possessed intrinsic electromagnetic properties capable of transmitting magnetic signals through glass barriers. Using Prussian Blue Stain with nano-sized iron particles, both ex vivo and in vivo hair follicles emitted magnetic signals that penetrated glass, creating replicate images of hair shafts. The experiment involved placing hair between glass slides with iron particle solutions, which, after evaporation, revealed images formed by iron aggregates and PBS crystals. The findings suggested that static electricity could influence these electromagnetic effects.
