HPLC Determination of Content and Content Uniformity of Finasteride Capsules

    January 2002
    Luo Liu
TLDR The method accurately measures finasteride in capsules.
The study established a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for determining the content and content uniformity of finasteride capsules. The method used a Waters C18 column with a methanol-water mobile phase and a detection wavelength of 220 nm. Results showed a strong linear relationship within the concentration range of 0.06-0.14 mg/mL, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9996. The method demonstrated an average recovery rate of 99.87% and a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.24% across 6 samples, indicating that the method was simple, accurate, and precise.

The user stopped using finasteride and RU58841 and is considering CB-03-01 for androgenic alopecia but is concerned about the cost and effectiveness, especially at a lower dose than in clinical trials. They are also using minoxidil, micro-needling, and nizoral shampoo but are unsure about the correct application method for CB-03-01.
