TLDR Hormonal therapy for transgender individuals carries health risks but is a personal choice.
Hormonal therapy, essential for gender transformation in transgender individuals, poses several health risks, including increased susceptibility to cardiovascular disorders, irregular blood pressure, and changes in brain function and structure. The therapy, involving hormones like estrogen and testosterone, can also lead to brain tumors, alterations in body mass index, skin conditions, and changes in bone density due to altered calcium deposition. Additionally, metabolic disorders may arise from unnatural hormone interactions, and testosterone levels can affect voice changes. Despite these risks, the decision to undergo hormonal therapy remains a personal choice for transgender individuals.
