TLDR Improved wigs showed good compatibility and no adverse reactions after transplantation.
The study aimed to improve follicular unit-like wigs and assess their histocompatibility after transplantation. Using New Zealand white rabbits, researchers compared wigs made from medical polycaprolactone matrix (experimental group) to those made from polypropylene matrix (control group). Results showed that the experimental group experienced milder inflammatory cell infiltration and fewer inflammatory cells at 1 week post-transplantation compared to the control group. Over time, the number of inflammatory cells decreased, and fibroblasts and collagen fibers increased, indicating good histocompatibility. By 1 and 6 months, there was no significant difference in inflammatory cell counts between the two groups, suggesting that the improved wigs had good histocompatibility without adverse reactions.
