TLDR Certain herbal plants can effectively treat PCOS symptoms.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine disorder characterized by polycystic ovaries, chronic anovulation, and hyperandrogenism, leading to symptoms such as menstrual irregularity, infertility, and hirsutism. While conventional medicinal therapies exist, their long-term use can have adverse effects and limited efficacy, prompting interest in complementary and alternative treatments. This review highlights various medicinal plants, including Saraca asoka, Moringa olifera, Asparagus racemosus, and Cimicifuga racemose, which have shown effectiveness in treating PCOS. The review aims to provide a comprehensive summary of these plants to aid future research in PCOS treatment.
