TLDR Herbal shampoo can effectively replace chemical shampoos.
The study formulated and evaluated a herbal hair shampoo using natural ingredients like Aloe vera, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Sapindus mukorossi, Acacia concinna, and Phyllanthus emblica. The shampoo was free from synthetic surfactants and was assessed for physicochemical parameters such as pH, foam stability, surface tension, dirt dispersion, and conditioning performance. The results showed that the herbal shampoo had acceptable cleansing ability, adequate foaming, and a balanced pH suitable for scalp and hair. It demonstrated good stability and consumer acceptability, indicating that herbal ingredients can effectively replace chemical components in commercial hair care products.
