TLDR Wearing headcovers doesn't affect male-pattern hair loss severity.
This study aimed to assess the relationship between headcover use and the severity of male-pattern hair loss (MPHL) in 865 adult males. The research, conducted from May 2016 to August 2017, used the Norwood–Hamilton classification to evaluate MPHL severity. The findings indicated no statistically significant difference in MPHL severity between those who frequently covered their heads and those who did not (P = 0.952). The only factor associated with increased MPHL severity was age. Thus, headcover use did not appear to influence the overall severity of MPHL in males.
