TLDR Premature hair whitening or loss may indicate a risk for erectile dysfunction.
The study investigated the relationship between hair whitening or loss and erectile dysfunction (ED), both potentially linked to oxidative stress. It included 50 ED patients and 50 healthy controls, assessing factors like hypertension, diabetes, and smoking status, alongside measurements of testosterone and other health indicators. Results showed significant differences in diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and hair whitening/loss scales between the ED group and controls. The conclusion suggested that patients with premature hair whitening or loss should be evaluated for ED, as oxidative stress might be a common underlying factor.
