TLDR Dimethyl-fumarate may cause temporary hair loss.
A 55-year-old woman undergoing treatment with dimethyl-fumarate for relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis experienced progressive hair loss starting three months after beginning the therapy. Despite thorough examinations and tests, no other cause for the hair loss was identified. The hair loss slowed after two months and was followed by regrowth. This case suggested that transient hair loss might be an unreported side effect of dimethyl-fumarate.
