    The study conducted in July 2015 in a school near Hyderabad aimed to determine the prevalence and causative agents of tinea capitis among 600 primary school children. It found that 100 children (15.0%) were diagnosed with tinea capitis, with the most common dermatophytes being Trichophyton verucosum, Trichophyton tonsurans, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. The study concluded that promoting public health actions focused on self-hygiene education could significantly reduce the prevalence of these infections in the future.
