TLDR Stress management and proper hair care can help reduce hair loss.
This study assessed hair loss prevalence and associated factors among 104 medical students at Konaseema Institution of Medical Sciences. It found that 97.11% of participants experienced hair loss, with academic stress (36.53%), dandruff (30.76%), and changes in water and diet (20.19%) being the most common causes. A significant association was found between stress and hair loss (p = 0.001), but no significant correlation with BMI, hemoglobin levels, or water type. Most students used shampoos for treatment. The study concludes that stress management and proper hair care practices may help reduce hair loss, and suggests further research with larger samples to explore prevention and treatment strategies.
