TLDR Most patients had less hair growth in affected areas after treatment.
The study evaluated hair loss in 18 patients more than 2 years after treatment for kerion Celsi with griseofulvin. Hair counts in previously affected areas averaged 103.3 hairs per cm², compared to 302 hairs per cm² in unaffected areas, showing a statistically significant difference. Among the patients, 4 had nearly normal hair growth, 7 had decreased hair growth with normal hair covering the lesions, 4 had decreased hair growth without normal hair covering the lesions, and 3 experienced severe alopecia.
