TLDR Bandotan leaf extract effectively promotes hair growth.
The study investigated the hair growth activity of a hair tonic made from the ethanol extract of bandotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides L.) on local male rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). The hair tonic was applied in varying concentrations (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%) over 21 days. Results showed that the 20% concentration of bandotan leaf extract had the highest hair length and weight, indicating significant hair growth activity. The one-way ANOVA test confirmed a significant difference between treatments, with the 20% concentration performing comparably to the positive control. The study concluded that bandotan leaf extract is effective in promoting hair growth.
